Cowboy® Perennial Peanut (Arachis glabrata) is a UGA-developed ornamental perennial peanut selected for its attractive foliage, abundant golden-yellow blooms, and strong performance in Southern landscapes. Its low-growing, spreading habit creates a dense groundcover that can be used in residential landscapes, commercial properties, orchards, slopes, borders, and other areas where beauty and reduced maintenance are desired.
Once established, Cowboy® offers excellent drought tolerance and requires less mowing and maintenance than traditional turf. As a legume, perennial peanut fixes nitrogen naturally and its golden blooms provide a valuable food source for pollinators.
